With the release of iTunes 4.8 it now supports video. Could this mean a ipod video in the near or slightly distant future?

Nope. Jobs has said they will not do an iPod video because nobody wants to watch video on a 2.5" screen...He says the future is photos not video

Also there is no added video support in iTunes 4.8 so I am not sure what you are talking about

Ah didn't see that.
Tried it out and it crashed both times. I don't see any real use for this unless apple is going to start selling music videos from the iTMS Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |

iTunes has been able to show movie trailers and select music videos for some time now.
4.8 adds support for local QuickTime movies. QuickTime+iTunes is the only media player that uses seperate applications for its video player and jukebox. (Windows Media Player and RealPlayer on Windows both include video and jukebox components in a single application.) Perhaps Apple is moving in that direction. |

I knew it was able to show you the trailers and videos I just thought maybe apple would sell the music videos.
I actually like QuickTime and iTunes separate...For some reason it feels right that way Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System |
