And I agree the mighty mouse needs a make over. Keep the 2 in 1 button design I really like that. But update the scroll ball. The current one plain and simple worked great. When it worked that is which is for most users very rarely indeed.

I've had both a wired and wireless Mighty Mouse. Both worked great. Honestly, I just disabled the squeeze feature and the scroll ball as I was inadvertently kicking off shortcuts when I was in a hurry. Form factor for both was/is great.

I love using the Mighty Mouse. I like having a scroll ball instead of a wheel..it feels better in the finger. Maybe Apple should call it "Pro Mouse" (from the Power Mac line ten years ago)? Or Mobile Mouse, provided no other company has taken that one?

The mighty mouse really hurts my hand/wrist after a few hours of use and doing photoshop work with it becomes agony...

I like the 360 degree scroll, thats cool and genuinely useful. The right-click stopped working on my two wireless ones - although they do get a battering from time to time.

After a while on PS I can see that, yeah.

I remember one time my friend came over and wanted to borrow my Power Mac (Just for s and g here), and I'm using the wired version. He couldn't figure out how to use it because of the touch sensitivity of the mouse. I had to show him virtually. Funny.

I've always enjoyed my wireless MM. The scroll ball is vastly better than a scroll wheel, despite the infrequent issues with stuff getting caught inside. I've never had an issue with right/left clicking as I guess I always naturally lifted my index finger when right clicking. The slim design makes it great for tossing in my bag for travel. I really don't like those tiny portable mice, and this one is the best of both because it's full size but still portable.

I'm guessing the next one will have some kind of touch-scrolling that would eliminate the scroll ball but still have 360 scrolling.

Now THOSE are uncomfortable to use after a while. At least for people with big hands. Great to look at when you walk into a room, but...

To fleurya

I agree with you totally but I think the instances of the scroll ball not working to gunk and other issues stopping it from working is much more frequent than you think. Mine stopped working about a month after I got it. But I kept it cause of the shape. It really fits well in the hand and the right click on it unlike other apple mice is so needed.

So for me same thing but an improved scroll ball and I'll love Apple for it.

And I have to agree forget the hockey puck mouse. It just the wrong shape to be any good for long periods of use.

I have a mighty mouse and don't find it a problem, however; this technology in a mouse would win me over I think!

That first mouse - the "cap" mouse, as the MS engineer refers to it, would definitely be interesting to me.

The only thing I hate about the mighty mouse (I love to use it and prefer it above any other mouse) is that it doesn't work on windows.
