Apple printer?

this queston may have been asked already..are they EVER going to make an Apple printer..i know it doesn't matter but they make everything else..and now suppoisedly a two-buttoned mouse..why not a printer next?

Since it seems like we're the only ones posting tonight, I might as well answer. Apple will prolly not make a printer because of the abundance of cheap and non-cheap printers out there. Plus, supporting another Mac/Windows product might be too much hassle for Apple. And there's no way to "innovate" a printer.

They made printers up until 97-98 somewhere around there but they were not very successful since there was so much competition

There are a few ways to innovate a printer: slap a white plastic case with a clear finish on top of it, etch all it's markings on it without using stickers, and make it smaller than the average printer. that'll turn some heads lol

They need to stick with that they are good at, there is no shortage of options for printers.

Yeah, I had an Apple Laserwriter for awhile some years ago. It was a darn good printer, but there were tons more that were just as good and alot cheaper.

I have a $80 HP DeskJet now that fits the bill just fine. I don't do alot of printing so as long as it prints, it is good enough for me

Apple didn't make most (any?) of the printers they sold. They were rebranded models of Canon and HP products. For example, the Stylewriters were Canon products with Apple serial ports. Part of the reason behind adapting the USB port was to be able to use available hardware and get away from more costly, small-market products. Since there is no shortage of Mac-compatible printers now, Apple would just put itself into a very competitive, low profit market.

i have an old Apple Laserwriter from back in the day. And I think it is an HP with the Apple name. Use to use it with my old Mac SE+

today i'm using a Canon ip3000 and it works like a charm.

Yeah, Apple printers were mostly canons. I've got an old Stylewritter II that has canon ink in it
