Most of the people that I run into at the local Best Buys are like that. I don't even bother to ask anymore because I get headaches after talking to them.
Same with me. Most salespeople bother me and I try and avoid them unless they ask me something and then I say I am just looking around unless I actually need to purchase something they have to go in back to get for me. The only exception was the opening night of the Apple Store here. Many of them were very nice and I actually had fun talking with them.
Unless Microsoft opens a store up this way in upper Central California, I will never get to see one in person. No loss to me.
Crimson how could you talk about best buy like that. i work there, if you have a question. i could find something out for ya...

Since when did this become about Best Buy?
Oh well.
I've never been satisfied with a purchase at Best Buy- but I've always been satisfied with the product I bought from Best Buy. Ironic isn't it?

A few years ago there was talk at M$ about windows 7 being the last windows you actually buy. The discussion was around the idea that it would be kind of a pay as you go ... like the cell phones. So ... if your going to be giving away free computers to people that subscribe to this pay as you go windows, I could see them gearing up with retail stores in advance.
This way they would have total control of hardware / software and well ... cheaper then Apple.
Never under estimate the power of the dark side ...
That's it, looks like I have to make a recon trip. What questions do we need answered?
I forget you are pretty close to the one in calif. Questions? Find out the exact name of their version of Genius Bar.
Tell them their store is a RIP OFF of the Apple Store. Ask them when the Microsoft Magic Mouse (TM) is coming out and if it will get a Red Ring of Death also!!

Personally I'm not interested in Wal-Mart quality computers, but if that is the way Microsoft wants to market, it's a money maker for sure, as has been proven by Wal-Mart. Low quality at low prices seems to be in high demand these days.
