I find it mostly mind-numbingly boring due to the linear nature, especially the bits where they attempt to introduce vehicles. Even Halo has far better vehicle usage (better even than Far Cry) although I have to admit the graphics are pretty good, I particularly liked going through the zombie fest part using nothing but circular saw blades as weapons. ![]() I still far prefer Far Cry though, I've been trying to get past one part for about three days and I've attempted it about 50 different ways so far, the scope for experimentation is awesome. I just wish they put a few more sniper rounds in there as I really like the softly-softly sniper approach over the "drive in all guns blazing one" but I'm hampered by extreme lack of ammo! I'd have to agree With Amen-Moses, HL2 was made out to be a revolutionary new way for FPS, that has realistic physics that allow you to do anything and A.I that would always be one step ahead of you. In the end its just rather linear with some pretty graphics and the fact it has Counter-Strike and a huge modding community!
thats my thoughts on it anyway, i'll admit it was fun at times though just not as fun as it was made out to be! |

If you ask me, I still prefer Halo to this very day. The 2nd (Halo), 4th (The Silent Cartographer), 5th (Assault on the Control Room) and 10th (The Maw) levels have more re-playablity factor than any game I have played. I'm not too worried about the lack of Doom III, Far Cry or Half-Life 2 at the moment.
Although I strongly dislike The Library (7th level), Two Betrayals (8th) and Keyes (9th) levels because of the bloody Flood. Whoever came up with them should be smacked in the ****. Halo 2 has the better multi-player but the campaign mode is somewhat worst than the original. If you have a G5 iMac or better then get stuck into the world of Halo. |

When I got my G5 iMac last year I bought Halo stright away as I had never played it on the xbox I was looking forward to it.
But I'v only played through it once because, I always get distracted by the multiplayer ![]() I'm looking forward to Doom 3 but don't want to buy it if it lags a lot on an iMac w* 1GB. So when it comes out and if anyone plays it on an iMac can they commment how laggy it will be. Thanks |

I'd have to agree with Extra Terrestri, Ive had Halo and Halo2 since each of em pretty much came out and to this very day im still sitting down with them everynow and again when im bored and going through it with my brother! (On the xbox btw)
Oooh edit, forgot to ask is there much of a net community for it on the mac cos i intend to get it for my powerbook when i get one! cheers |
