On a side note Verizon will start testing LTE this year.
As for the agreement I thought it was stated on a Keynote presentation before he welcomed the ceo of AT&T to the stage.
"Supposedly verizon is getting the iPhone Q1 of 2010 and will not get the Palm Pre, although they have also been in talks with Palm so that all might change. Who knows?"

I had to laugh when I read your quote.
Could that be ANY more vague?
'Such and such might happen but there's info that suggests otherwise, and noone knows anyway'...... At the risk of sounding rude, did you really need to post that?

Palm Pre was never going to Verizon... has always been planned for Sprint as far as I know.

could this whole thread by any more vague? full of innuendo, postulations, theories.. all of it unknowns and just chatter.
that quote just adds another thought to the mix. it comes from a thread on the web about the Palm Pre, but makes an interesting further speculation about the iPhone for verizon.. will it come true? who the knows, no one here knows anymore than the next person, we are all just talking smack at the end of the day.
One way or another, i'm not amazed by the iPhone plus, im in Canada
You know, you come very close to how I feel. At first I was "love-struck" with it, but when I look at what it can't do, the glory of it fades a little. I am still surprised at what it can't do.
The power of the Apple marketing machine at its finest (although it has worn off for you).
I do tend to be too practical (ala Mr Spock). I have a certain set of requirements and (unfortunately) the iPhone doesn't meet all of them. At this point only the new Palm Pre seems to be in the running, but time will tell.

As much as I am fond of my iPhone, I have to concede that what it is lacking in is a bit disappointing. But the upcoming 3.0 software update looks to add in what everyone has been clamoring for and then some. Just finally adding support for devices to be controlled through the dock connector will be HUGE!

I agree - perhaps I am just too impatient. They are improving with each new release. (Just not fast enough for me). For example: the Pre is going to have one feature where, if you are late for a meeting, it will sense it, based upon your GPS, and automatically send out email (not sure about SMS instead) to those that are supposed to be at the meeting and let them know you are running behind.
