And I dont know what the deal is with people complaining about AT&t's service here is the same if not better then verizon. I switched from them to get the iPhone 18months ago and I havnt looked back.

I agree 100%. I switched from Verizon to AT&T because we simply do not get Verizon coverage when we go camping in Northern Michigan. AT&T works great. The extra coverage combined with the iPhone....seems like a win-win for me!

Just got this email from a person on craigs list wanting to trade in my response to the fact I could not take his iphone for my item...

"FYI my sister works for Verizon and she was telling me that in the near futur verizon is working with apple to get the iPhone on there network. "

I'm not sure if this would go in apple rumors and reports since it's more of a question really, or here or somewhere else. So apologies if it is in the wrong area. But awhile ago i heard apple was going to verizon (i just looked it up and found stuff in april about it). I was wondering if this was still true or not and if so is there a date "set"?

Was told by a verizon representative just 3 days ago that iphone would be out February 2010. Super excited as I have refused to leave Verizon. All my friends have the iphone and I am now the only hold out. I hate AT&T service as do they but they love their iphones.

I wouldn't count on it. Verizon just yesterday announced their own "app store" to compete with Apple's app store for the iPhone. In doing so, Verizon is perpetuating their model of owning the user interface, functionality and apps run on the phones it uses.

That will never fly with Apple. I would say that's probably the final nail in the coffin of this rumor.
