Sometimes i notice that the keypad wont type when im typing in something. I then start pressing different keys and after a min i have access to the keypad and can type again.

Is there some secret lock im pressing to stop it from typing?

Make sure your software is up-to-date via 'Software Update' under the Apple menu. Also, does this happen in every app?

I experience the same problem usually when I use Skype. The software is updated.

This problem is so typicall for Mac. This first happened to my macbook after a year, and the same happened again with a new one... after 6 months.

It's not typical for Mac, it is actually just something very few users are experiencing.

Anyway, try this:

If you are using Tiger upto version OS X 10.4.11 repair disk permissions then download and install this for intel or this for PPC

If you are using Leopard upto version OS X 10.5.8 repair disk permissions then download and install this

If you are using Snow Leopard upto version OS X 10.6.2 repair disk permissios then download and install this

I had this same problem. solution:

Press alt/option key 5 times to disable mouse keys!

Apparently, I had accidentally pressed it because it makes a weird sound and I remember hearing that sound!
