My brother is a colleage student and he is doing media studies he has just purchased a macbook 13'' its ideal for him as he can take it to and from colleage (plus he hates vista lol) then, theres the macbook pro (I take it the 'pro' means people using it for professional use ie graphic designers, webdesigners etc. in recent years macs have become better with gaming, word documents etc and have become a much bigger rival to microsoft. but theres is no medium for home and general users, people who use a computer for internet, itunes, loading photos uploading videos etc, you may say thats what windows is for for a economical computer solution, but unfortunely windows pcs are now all packed with vista. which you all know doesnt like digital cameras, itunes are other web browsers and games but does like bugs. So my question is why have apple not created a 15.4'' notebook with the macbook specs. the price of the macbooks is due to its portable size and the price of the macbook pro because of its high spec namely high end graphics. so why not combine the macbook pro size and the macbook specs to have a more a affordable mac notebook.

The Macbook Pro isn't really all that much better than the Macbook. If all you want is a bigger screen then buy a cheap windows machine with a big screen. There isn't a gap in the market, the Macbook is perfect for everything you've said; internet, itunes, uploading photos and videos, ect. If you want something for home then get an iMac. Macs prices are so because they make a quality product with quality parts in it. I have never had a problem doing any of the things you've mentioned with my Macbook and I have almost 40gbs of music photos and videos and it's working as well as the day I bought it.
