G3 ibook ram question

Hey i heard that you can put a gig of ram in a g4 ibook but it is suposed to just take 640. Can i do this with my g3 ibook?

To the best of my knowledge, the G3 iBooks will only accept a maximum of a 512 MB stick in the upgrade slot, for a total of 640 MB.
