I just got a refurbished MacBook. 2 Ghz Core 2 Duo, 6x Superdrive, 2 GB RAM. Now, I know it's not a new one, w/ the faster Santa Rosa? chip, but how old is it? I was happy because it was relatively cheap but still had the Superdrive. Is there a way to tell how old the model is? I paid $849 plus tax (had a discount).

Thanks.

You can check your model here. Even gives you an estimated retail price.

Go to the Apple menu and select "About this mac" then click- more info.

it sounds to me that you did. i got a standard MB with a combo drive, 1GB RAM, 2GHz C2D and paid 999 for it. the next model up (white with superdrive) was 1199 with 1gb of ram. i bought it in August of 07 so that is not too old.
