    Traveling from US to Japan
Hi, I'm going to making some presentations in Tokyo with my US purchased powerbook - the plugs are the same, but there is a slight difference of 10 volts between Japanese and US plugs (Japan is lower). The notebook will also be connected to a monitor. My question is, will it damage the laptop plugging it directly into the Japanese outlet, or should I still get the USB based Kensington powerplug recommended by Apple? Thanks!

    Smile Connecting a large monitor
I want to connect a large monitor to better view my projects running from my 15" laptop. Do all brands work, or do I need to purchase an apple monitor?

Get the adapter for the power supply. There is a reason it is recommended.

Monitors are monitors. If the connection matches, it will work.
If it is DVI, you're fine. If it's VGA, then make sure you have the VGA-DVI adapter.
