Just get the OWC house brand. It's the cheapest, has a lifetime warranty, and you'll not see any difference in use on your MacBook between it and the other 2 brands.

If you're not using Photoshop, CS3, doing a lot of video or audio encoding, or other programs that can eat memory; 2GB is probably plenty. At the same time, if the extra $25 is no big deal, you can't go wrong by going the 3GB route.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.

I would love to go the 3GB route but since i have Duo Core and the package in the link above is 1GB & 2GB bundled together im not sure how it would work out because i have heard that you need to keep both sides even. Is this true? If so does anyone have a link to where i could get two 1.5GB. Also is this"DDR2 SDRAM" not better than this "200-pin DIMM"? Please bear with me im new to all of this but any help would be AMAZING because i would like to upgrade soon.

No, it's not. You can use modules of differing capacity. However, best performance is achieved by using a matched pair, since they will then work in dual channel mode.

The Core Duo Macbook and Macbook Pros only support 2GB of memory, but I believe the Core 2 Duo machines can go up to 3 and 4, depending on the version.

DDR2 SDRAM is the standard the module meets - 200pin DIMM describes the packaging. Both terms can describe the same module.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!

Unfortunately, I have never seen modules of 1.5GB per unit. It seems that if dual-channel performance is important to you, you'd need to keep it at 2GB or go to 4GB. In reality, you'll probably never notice the difference without it, although you might see slight gains in benchmarks.

Do you have a Core Duo or a Core 2 Duo Mac?

Its not that the dual channel performance is of upmost importance, I was just always under the impression that it was better. I have an intel core 2 Duo.

It is better, but that is the reason why it is better. If you have the latest incarnation of MacBook (if you bought it just recently, then you do), there's no reason you couldn't just go with 2x2GB matched modules - then you don't have to worry about it.
