Till yesterday everything seemed fine, but suddenly, without touching anything, my default keyboard buttons for volume adjustment, which on my Mac are F10 for Mute, F11 for Turning down the volume and F12 for Turning up the volume switched to controlling Dashboard, Desktop and All Windows. So far so good... I spend the whole day trying to get my settings as they were... tried all kind of combinations with the Keyboard Settings but didn't succeed. I managed to set F5 for All Windows and F6 for Desktop, as I had chosen it to be a month ago when I got my notebook, but didn't make it with the volume buttons. So now I can't control the volume from these buttons, and this is frustrating me.

Please, if you know what has might happen, and how to fix it, help

The default locations for audio controls on the MacBook are F3, 4 & 5 as signified by the speaker symbols on the keys. What you are describing are the default settings. If they were/are anything else, they have been changed from their default.

The place these changes are made is in System Preferences, Keyboard and Mouse, Keyboard Shortcuts... there is a button at the bottom to restore all defaults... and this is also where you would edit your shortcuts if you wish to change them.

I cannot be held responsible for the things that come out of my mouth.
In the Windows world, most everything folks don't understand is called a virus.

My audio controls are on F10-12, like with the OP, as signified by the speaker symbols on the keys.
Maybe they changed that recently and they're on F3-5 on older MacBooks?

White MacBook (see specs), switched in Dec 2007 and I've been in love ever since!
