MacBook Pro - VGA to RCA

I found a VGA to RCA Adapter, has anyone hooked their MacBook Pro straight into a television? The TV is not projection or LCD, plain and simple television

i did this with a normal macbook and a mini-dvi to rca cable into a crt ("normal tv"). aside from movies, or games, the quality is pretty much unusable.
