Ever since I got my MacBook Pro, I've had this strange "problem". After My MBP has been in sleep (lid closed, etc) it takes about 10-15 seconds for my WiFi to kick in. Obviously this isn't the end of the world, but sometimes when I flip open the lid and want to immediately surf the Web, I can't!

Does this happen for anyone else?

not that long but then i have a password to put in before i can open the internet so it might be around that time i also dont leave anything much running b4 i close the lid.

i think it is normal for it to take sum time to start back up as when you open your mac it has to well restart everything back to where it was.

i know this is more of a detraction than a fix but if you set it to ask for a password when you wake it. you will not notice the time and make your mac safer

mine does not even reconnect to the my wireless network when I resume from sleep... (I get the self assigned ip thing) It will only reconnect and regain internet when I restart the computer...
Sometimes it works...

just a thought - what router do you have
I have a Linksys WRT300N

Netgear routers also experience similar issue.

I have the exact same router, and when my MB awakes from sleep; it takes a few seconds to reconnect, but it doesn't reach 10 seconds. It takes 3-5 seconds usually. How far is your Mac from your router? That might be the cause.
