Ok, I've had my iBook G4 for about 2 months now.
and I really must say that it's the best friggin computer I've ever owned. Not to mention it's my first Mac, hooray. BUT, the problem is that being born and raised on PCs and Windows, I still haven't completely figgured out OSX. and now that summer is over, I really have to buckle down and do some hardcore Photoshop work for school. So what I'm trying to do is use my iBook in conjunction with a computer monitor I have laying around to get a dual-monitor settup going so that I have all the convinences of expanded desktop for my editing work. And me being the uneducated PC user I am, have got it as far as having two screens showing the same thing. If anyone can direct me on the path towards dual-screen awesomeness... it would be greatly appreciated. |

you'll need to download and use this as iBooks don't natively support dual display spanning.

Yay! I got it... I gotta say it pretty much kicks butt. Can't wait until the day that I can afford a Mac desktop to use for editing... the things (G5s) are sooo freaking expensive.
Clamshell mode is using just the monitor, and not your iBook/Power Book's LCD screen. Basically using your laptop as a tower or somthing. But... your laptop will heat up and kill your LCD screen. So just don't do it, and there won't be any problems. |
