I saved a couple of bucks by buying my wife a refurb MacBook Pro at the Apple Store. She used to burn DVD's of slideshows/family photos ect and thought that the Mac would be better. I work for IBM and have no clue about Macs. BTW, I can get really cheap IBM PC's but my wife insisted on a Mac.
So, I did search on DVD burner problems but most of the questions seem to be around copying movies. She just wants to create movies and slideshows that play on a standard dvd player Did I make a mistake with the refurb? Here is what is says under Disc Burning Matshita DVD-R UJ-846 Firmware revision FQ3T Interconnect ATAPI Burn Support Yes (apple shipped/supported) Cache 2048kb Reads DVD YES CD-Write -R, -RW DVD Write -R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL Burn underrun Prot CD YES Burn UnderrunProt DVD Yes Write Strategies CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO Media No Is there anything missing? Is iDVD all you need? |

well what exactly is the problem that she is running into????
to me it sounds like she should just make the movies in iMovie and just use the built in burning tool in order to burn the disk. make sure you have decent quality dvd media to burn onto.... -chris MoTM honor roll... when? i dont remember |
