Hi all. I have recently noticed something my macbook pro doing that is annoying me. I use it a lot on the move, and previously in the past when it has ran out of battery (obviously after warnings) it will shut down, but when I reconnect it to a power source it will start back up from where it left off, documents etc in tact. Now, when it runs out of battery, it simply shuts down and when I reconnect it, it does a normal start up from scratch - so any documents etc are lost.

Why has it started doing this and how do I fix it?

Thanks.

The reason it comes back after being extremely low is that OS X will put the machine into sleep mode when the machine reaches a critical threshold. My guess is that your PMU needs to be reset as OS X thinks the battery has more capacity than it actually does.

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics!
