    Question 2.16GHz - 2GB vs. 3GB RAM
I'm unclear as to whether an upgrade to 3GB of RAM on my 2.16GHz (Late 2006) MBP is a performance upgrade.

Since the RAM is DDR2 or whatever, is it better to stick with two 1GB sticks or go ahead with the 1024+2048?

    THANKS!

    Specs:
    Power Mac G5 1.6Ghz,w/ 1.2Gb ram,+17" Apple studio Display..Mac Book Pro 2GHz w/ 1.5gb ram
because the ram runs dual channel it is better to stick to matched pairs...i really want to change my 1024MB+512MB for 1024MB x2 in my mbp

    Specs:
    iMac 20" 2.4/4/320/Leopard, 12" PowerBook G4 1.5/1.25/80/Tiger
The guys at Other World Computing suggest that despite the theoretical advantage of matched pairs, having that third GB creates more "real" performance gains.
