To my knowledge it will not decrease the life of your battery by not allowing it to fully drain or charge, however, as with any rechargeable battery, the older it gets it will demonstrate wear in the form of shorter battery life. I'm not completely sure about the situation with Macs, but I know on my Windows laptop, as it gets older the battery life decreases simply because the programs I have accumulated over time have processes running in the background using processor time and draining the battery.
