MacBook - using hdtv with macbook rez problems

hi guys

i am using my macbook with my 26 inch hd tv now i carnt get the right rez on the tv with out it being stretched a bit is there a way to change the mac presets or something

More to the point, what's the native rez of the tv.

You should then be able to find a setting for the macbook that will be suitable.
