ok ive desided i want to get a white mac book... i have budgetted myself to $1200 so ive desided on this one.. it is $1399 after rebate

13.3" MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz White 2GB/120GB/SD
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz, 2GB DDR2, 120GB SATA/100, Intel GMA 950 graphics 64MB, 13.3" TFT 1280x800, SuperDrive(DVD+-R/CD-RW), Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n WLAN, Bluetooth, Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger

is this a good choice, i mostly do web browsing/email, basic photoshopping and it will be with me during travel.

does it have the built in isight? ive noticed that some people have added their own ram, does apple ram suck, should i get the 1 gig and add my own?

thanks guys... :-)

Yes it'll be very sufficient for your needs.

I would get the 1GB of RAM from Apple, and buy the 1GB from elsewhere. People do this because purchasing RAM yourself and installing it is a lot cheaper than ordering it from Apple.

ahh ok great... is there "better preforming" ram then the OE stuff? would it be beneficial to ditch the 1gb on ebay/craigslist and buy 2gb of "performance ram"? or just get another stick of 1gb

it comes with two 512mb sticks so you have to order two 1gb sticks from somewhere. It has an isight camera built in and it will be fine for your needs.

I got my macbook stock with 512 rather than 2 gigs
shortly after upgraded to 2 gigs
and probably saved nearly 300 dollars by not buying it from apple straight out of the shoot

is it best to get OE apple ram, or is there performance ram available (ie corsair ect)

and what about leaving the macbook on all the time? i currantly use a 17" hp laptop, and it runs almost all the time, is this hard on the macbook?

I wouldnt say that the Apple RAM is worse than the performance ram, but more expensive. I do know that Crucial has good stuff if you want to look at that. And leaving it on all the time will be fine for it, It may handle it better than your 17"

I Love Free Software.
