First time Mac user here, hello everybody!
I'm glad to be a part of your world now, wish i would of came over sooner, . I just bought a MBP today from an Apple store, and shortly after upon opening it and examining it, i noticed when closed one side of the screen sits higher then the other side, and this isn't just the corner, it is the whole side. I'm thinking about taking it back to the Apple store and exchanging it for a new one, because im sure after normal usage it will only get worse.

And also, how good are the employees at the Apple stores with dealing this sort of stuff? I wasn't too happy with the customer service i recieved there today, and i'm hoping its not going to be any worse now with this problem.

Take it back. As far as customer service goes, it varies widely. I've had good, I've had bad.

I'm not an easy customer for them to deal with because I'm a little bit different than their typical customer (and from what I've seen in the past few days, most people on this site are as well), in the sense that I'm not an Apple fanatic, and I tend to ask hard questions. The last guy I dealt with looked like I'd punched him in the gut after I asked him what Apple was doing about the battery issue in the MBP I'm looking at, but he was polite and courteous and answered my question-even if he did look like it was a question he really did not want to answer.

On the other hand, I had a guy that got real snippy with me when I went in about 6 months ago and was browsing for my grandmother... he asked if I had any experience with Macs, I said that I built my G4 myself (it's, ah, not stock...) and he started trying to sell me a new MBP. I pointed out that for me, the models available at the time were functionally useless (slow graphics, low-res screen) and he didn't appreciate that at all.

So yeah. *shrug* It's all over the map, it varies by store and by employee. Not really different than most other retail places.
