hey,

my macbook basically got annihilated by a bookshelf which fell right off the wall on my third day of college. Luckily it seems to be functioning fine, but has a few very small scrapes and one large one right on the speaker. I have the extra careplan thing, but will this cover me? I'm guessing it doesn't but i want to make sure and i have to ask my dad about it. Also, if it isn't covered by the careplan, how much would it cost to fix? If it was much i probably would leave it, as if by the third day it's annihilated, by the end it will probably go through some more wear and tear.

None of apples warranties cover accidental damage.

not sure on the cost, but its always worth a phone call to ask!

good luck with everything. at least it still works good!

Warranties cover manufacturer defects. What you're asking about is insurance related. Is it covered by your parents homeowner's insurance? If you have something very valuable like a laptop you can get it covered by homeowner's insurance. But there are factors to consider there like the cost of repair, insurance deductible and the affect the claim will have on your insurance in the future.

no not covered, where is it damaged?

a work mate dropped a book on my MBP and it put a large dent on the top case, the panel with the keyboard/trackpad.

its costing him $232 AUD plus fitting.
