when my gf is doing her homework in ms word and excel, the stupid programs always quit while shes halfway through her work. i re-installed office, and it still does this. also, when she uses safari, that sometimes quits too. any ideas on what could be causing this?

Maybe you should try doing a system reinstall?

Or before you do that you could try repairing disk permission
