MacBook Pro - first time mac buyer, please help

hi i just got a macbook pro. 2.2gigz. i've never owned or let alone used a mac since i was in the 6th grade, mid 90s. i have a few question that i was wondering if you guys could answer.
1)is there a list somewhere that has all the keyboard shortcuts list
2)is there any way i can make the macbook have 5.1 sound?
3)when am downloading something and the computer turns off (power save),
the download turns off. is there a way to have it keep downloading? does
the hdd turn off as well?
4)currently am running on a trail version of a newsgroup reader (hogwasher),
is there any free (good) newgroup readers out there (like grabit)?
5)is there any way if i wanted to later change out the video card?

These are all the questions i can think of right now, thanks for all the helps guys!!!

I don't know of anything free, but I would highly recommend Unison from Panic. Panic makes awesome Mac software:

I think you would need a third-party external sound card unless you can set it up in the System Preferences -> Hardware section -> Sound -> Output tab on your MBP.

Go into your System Preferences -> Hardware section -> energy Saver -> Sleep tab and in Put the computer to sleep when it is inactive for: set the slider to Never.

No its not possible. Its soldered to the logic board I believe.
