So i was using my Macbook, its a white one. Anyway, my brother came up to me (He's 18 and not computer literate at all) and said why on earth did you buy a girls laptops. I was like, err, how is it a girls laptop?. He said it looks like a girls laptop.

I was amazaed. I mean, i know not all boys/men go for white laptops, but does the Macbook put males in the limelight of a womens laptop?.

Also, i'm just thinking, you never see Macbooks in advertisements or tv programmes. They are always Macbook Pro's. DO Macbook users feel like we're using a primary school laptop, when we sit there and see a Macbook Pro user next to us?.

Just some thoughts that i wanted an opinion for, from Macbook users.

Hmmm... well, when I found out there was a black macbook, I immediately selected it as my choice. I don't know if I did that because it looks manlier or because I am a MS convert and am used to darker colored laptops. It was just my natural choice. I guess it's a matter of opinion. I used to work with a guy who had a white ibook and I never thought it looked girly.

On the pro thing. I actually enjoy the look of the macbook better, but that's also a matter of opinion. If I needed the extra capabilities of a pro, I would have bought one. I wanted a small laptop and this one does everything I need it to do very well. If it's a lesser machine, so be it. I still have that extra money in my pocket...

I don't think I'd worry too much about your brother's opinion on the girly issue. It's up to you. Do you think it looks girly? Obviously you didn't when you bought it. Just enjoy it. Life's too short.

It's not pink, so no. I think it's sleek sexy, and can be used to get teh chix!

I don't have any problems with my sexuality. Everyone around me knows that the shaven headed, goateed, and steely-eyed missle guy is using a very powerful machine that can beat up everyone else's machine.

So they either STFU, or ooh, and ahh over all the neat things it can do that theirs can't.

Heck, my very feminine wife has the black Macbook, a black iPod video, and turqoise Nano. All my Apple products are white, with the exception of my black 1GB Nano I use for workouts. And this Samsung 22" external widescreen LCD. Oh wait, that's not an Apple product.

You see the MBP's in the TV shows because that's probably mostly what they have around. I know Alton Brown, for example, is a major Mac head and uses them in the production of all his very manly cooking shows.

Now, the old eMacs...well, they were kind of Fischer-Price looking.

I like mine. I wanted a black one, but after I saw what happened to my black iPod nano (which was soon replaced by a white iPod video), I opted for white. Black scratches too easily.

I know, I know, so does white - but it's so much harder to see the scratches on the white models.

Plus I'm not going to pay a $200 premium (I think it's $125 now) for a different color. That's just plain dumb.

It looks different, and people like to deride anything different. Like bcooper I couldn't care less what people think - it didn't buy it for them, I bought it for me, and only my opinion counts.

ajlwoody is right on the money. He's just jealous that you have a superior computer than he does, so his natural reaction is to deride it to mask his envy. You should actually revel in his indignation of your laptop

I think the MacBook looks very stylish and is neither aimed for either sex. It's clean crisp and simple.

So saying it's white and looks likes a girls laptop, does that make the Wii look like a girls console or white trainers for the lady's only?

I love my White, MacBook, DS Lite, PSP, socks and trainers.

On a crusade to get all household electricals in Apple white!
