My ibook G4 is coming to the end with the typical logicboard issues. I did an at home fix, but after 2 months the logicboard needs to be replaced. So I'm going to upgrade to the macbook pro. Is there much difference between the 2.2 and the 2.4 functionally? Does the better graphics card make that much difference for photoshop and FCP? The price difference is big and I'm wondering if I'll really need it. I just deferred for a film major for a year. So I'd like to be able to do all my work on this notebook, come next fall. Thanks!

the final decision is really up to you
I finally went for the 2.2GHz and it is amazing I did not really think that the upgrades that come with the 2.4 were worth the extra $ - but again the final decision is up to you ![]() try using the forum search function , as this has been discussed on many different posts throughout the forum

Not a big difference. And on top of that since your going from an iBook G4 to a MacBook Pro you will be getting a MASSIVE speed upgrade eitherway.
I'd say 2.2 but its your call in the end. Goodluck, both of them are great machines. -PowerMac G5- 1.8Ghz G5, 1.5 GB RAM, 1TB HD (2x 500GB), GeForce FX 5200, Super Drive. |

Thank god, at least I have someone who is in the same boat as me. I went to the store with the goal of buying the 2.2 but they only have the 2.4 and it was the last one left and the rest were the 17" model. I'm very pleased with this machine though.
