I have a problem that I hope someone has an answer to. when I connect a bluetooth headset to my macbook pro (15" 2.2 GHz model, 1 week old) I run into problem.

It connects without any problem, but the sound quality is really bad. On both the speaker and mic there is a crackling (clicking) sound that comes regularly.

It feels like there is some interference, but I have never experienced this with any other computer or mobile phone for that matter. It is just the macbook pro.

I have tried everything I can come up with, turn off airport (although I have never seen actual interference between Wlan and bluetooth)

Am I the only one with this problem, could it be hardware related?

Thanks
Torbjörn

Downloaded macbook pro software updater 1.0 and that solved the clicking and hissing when using bluetooth headset :-)

Sorry man. I've never used a bluetooth headset, let alone one with my MBP. I'd suggest calling for a little phone support. You've only had it for a week, so they should bend over backwards to walk you through some stuff.

What do you use the headset for? Is it a stereo headset? the Bluetooth in Macs don't have A2DP so stereo won't work right. Just thought I'd throw that in, in case.

Hi fleurya,
No I am not after A2DP, it is a mono headset for IP telephony, still haven't phoned apple support though, so no answer about this yet sorry to say.

Talked to apple support and they could of course not help me. They said I should use an USB headset instead as a workaround.

And see if I could replicate the problem on another MAC. So if there is anyone outthere whohas a bluetooth headset I would be grateful if you could replicate this problem for me :-/
