So today I took my powerbook g4 to the apple store for some weird startup issues. Bottom line, the hard drive is failing, so is the optical drive, and the frame is damaged. They say it will cost 500-600 usd to fix.

Does anyone know if there is a cheaper way to get this fixed? or am I better off selling it for parts on ebay and buying a macbook pro?
QUOTE Thanks
