Hi
I have just got hold of a 14" ibook 800 mhz G3, and though I haven't looked at it properly, dismantled it...etc. It won't power on -as in- no life at all. I know about graphic chip issues, but there is no sound at startup- chime-running...etc. This may seem a couple of stupid questions but I really would like to find out about, if anyone knows a thing or two about ibooks: 1. I've just placed the battery in and connected to the mains, and the battery has one green light and is blinking, what does this mean, does anyone know what the lights and colours indicate on the ibook battery? charging! or should it be another colour. 3. Also, maybe I am being stupid, but can the logic board be actually dead if the battery is charging ...etc. I don't know much about ibooks, but doesn't it use the logic board to charge? Anyones help would be great.

I believe that means the battery is dead. The lights only shine green and there are 4 glowing if it is fully charged. I assume one blinking means it is dead.
About charging if the logic board is dead, that's a new one to me. I have no clue if it's possible. I assume not. Bryan January 2008 Member of the Month |
