i was wondering about the santa rosa chip, since I bought my MBP in late april do i have it?? and if so what is it and the difference from the regular intel core 2 duo??

I dont think so, the macbook pro's got the santa rosa when they were last updated in June, the 6th I think, I dont really know about the difference.

As already said... your particular model does not have santa rosa. Major benefits are a faster front side bus, 800mhz instead of 667mhz, better battery life, and N wireless compatibility. Besides that there's only a few differences here and there.
