So I got the Kash model newegg 2 gig RAM upgrade. Boy, when those videos say there's lots of resistance when you're trying to shove those sticks in, they mean it. It's been a couple hours now, and my fingers are just now beginning to not hurt so much. Anyway, now I have two 512 meg sticks with no place really to put them. My employer supplied Dell already has 1gig, and I'm not putting my own stuff into their equipment. I don't have any other notebook class computers to put them in. So what do I do with them? Stick them in a closet?

I suppose I could have them as spares in case anything happens to the new RAM.

BTW, my Macbook flies with 2gig! Even when I have all the stuff I run and Parallels is actually useful. Looking forward to not seeing that beachball quite so often.

It really is a good feeling to have your MacBook work well. Going back to your query, you can either sell it or keep it. I sold mine.

However, my worry is about the warranty coverage and the replies from our mates in the forum clarified it all. MacBook warranty re RAM

I hear that they can make a good snack if you're "fiber-challenged"

I think that white stuff is something they put on it, possibly to improve conductivity.

I sold my old RAM on eBay.

Maybe you could sell it to Apple and they'll be able to re-sell it for triple the original price. j/k I'm about to make a purchase myself next week for my new MacBook. I plan to sell mine.
