Crucial, who makes arguably some of the best memory around, just dropped their price 10 bucks.

Is Crucial's better than G.Skill from Newegg- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231116 ?

If the price difference is a big factor for you then go with G.Skill. It's a safe bet. Just not as safe as Crucial.

Why not just go generic? If it's faulty, you send it back. If it's not, then you save a lot of money. I've been using generic memory for years and have never had any problems.

100 bucks for 2GBs of ram without the arrgivation is worth it in my opinion. If I am going to put memory in my $1000+ laptop, its going to be the good kind.

I went to the site and it says that it is compatible with MacBook white. Would it be compatible with MacBook black as well?

The black and white Macbooks are identical, the only difference is the color. So whatever works in one will work in the other.

I disagree that Crucial is "better" than G.skill. G.skill is a very good memory manufacturer and makes some great gaming memory (with a very picky set of consumers, so if you can make it here, you're good). I've been running the same 2x1GB set that hagios1972 linked to and it's been working great.

Plus, I would much rather buy from Newegg than Crucial as its return policies are phenomenal

Thanks for this info. I had emailed a friend in the US to buy it for me since Newegg only sell in the US. Cheers ...
