on my macbook where i rest my wrists it seems to be creating too much pressure for the macbook to handle and around the edge of the macbook the grey area is breaking and seems to be very brittle...does anyone else have this problem...or a solution perhaps?

Which Macbook do you have? Is it still under warranty?

The early Macbooks exhibited the sort of symptoms you're describing, and Apple will cover it as warranty repair. If you still have a warranty, then take it into the nearest Genius Bar and they should have it shipped out to be fixed.
