what kind of movies are these (DVD's or downloaded and what format?) and what exactly do you mean by won't play?

I was able to pay for my new macbook
just by trying out products from home.

I believe we cannot talk about illegal things like making downloaded movies to work. Just FYI.

You cannot talk about illegal activity, and that looks like an illegally download movie. Since it starts to play and goes white that probably means that it's a corrupt file. You can try playing it in a different application or you can find another file.
