Hello,

I'm new here and this forum looked interesting. Maybe some of you can help me with my problem Powerbook G3 'Lombard'.

On my Powerbook G3, for some reason, I need to hold down "D" to force it to boot from the hdd at startup. Otherwise it goes to a screen with a circle-slash ("prohibited") sign on it. I also can't boot from my Panther DVD or FreeBSD CD by pressing "C". I can boot into Panther if I hold down "D" and it works fine from there. I'm typing this now on it. But I'd like to know why I have to do this, and why it won't boot from CD.

Thanks,
512
