iBook - iBook g4 hard drive help

so ive managed to mess up my hard drive, so i was wondering if i get a new one and install it, will OSX still be installed or will i have to purchase a new copy because i do not have the old disk because ive bought hte iBook used.

This is an iBook g4 for reference

You will have to buy a new version. It will not come on the HDD.
