I'm wondering if its a lonely boat for me...

It seems that my fans and HDD are whirring almost all the time, even when i have only 3 apps open
Even when i just have the Finder!!

Is this bad?

Why Upgrade to Vista When You can buy a Mac?

Yeah, that's probably not good. Are you using it on a desk or on a flat surface? You might want to check out a program called MenuMeters. See what that tells you about your CPU usage and please tell us. I know my MacBook would get really hot, but that's because it was always at 90% CPU usage. Running at temperatures like that for about six months finally killed my hard drive.

Mine always got warm before the fans would run. Do they start right when you start up, or does it take a little bit before they kick in?

I believe that FAH Core is exactly what killed mine. I will no longer be folding on my MacBook once I get it back from Apple.
