I have my brand new MBP and I am thinking should I buy a recovery protection plan thingies. You know the laptop get lost or stolen I call and they try to recover it. Has anybody ever thought or tried it out? Talk about your experience. I'm thinking of buying one, which one should I get? MacPhone Home, Undercover, LoJack, or are there any others?

Thanks.

I have UnderCover and know of two people who have gotten their laptops recovered because of it. I like it because it is a one-time fee (I believe LoJack is a yearly fee)

If I put it on my MBP and I go to a Hotel or College, would my MBP show up as stolen or would I have to alert them that my MBP is stolen?

You have to alert them that the machine is stolen then they begin the tracking
