iMark is on a distinguished road
Mac Specs: 14" iBook G4 & 30GB iPod Video

I am looking at a used ibook G4 and the guy selling it told me that he wiped the HD because he didn't have the Admin password. Would it be fine if I used my OS software disk on this mac?

What disks are they? Are they ones from a retail box of Panther, Tiger, etc? or is it the restore disks from a computer. The restore disks will work, but they will need to be for an iBook G4, otherwise I don't think they will load.

Currently running OS X 10.8.2

StretchR is correct. To install Tiger, you will need a software CD made for an iBook G4 or a retail version of the Tiger disc.

and there's probably no reason to suspect this but..for someone not to have the Admin pass who's selling..there might be something fishy about that..make sure it's not stolen property! :blind:
