iBook - Moving HD G4 to G3

Trashed my G4 Ibook (long ugly story) w/tiger & 30GB hd, and found a G3 ibook with a 20GB/Panther I can afford. Can I just put my 30 GB into the G3 and leave Tiger and my files/programs intact on it? Or will it crash in the stange environs?

If you were going to go from a G3 to a G4, I would say give it a try, since many things are backwards compatable. In this case, I think you might run into problems. If I were you, I would figure out a way to mack things up, and then give it a try. That way you have nothing to lose.
