Just wait for apple to release an apple wireless n card. Shouldn't be too far off as they have a n router now.

The MacBook Pro currently has a Draft N card, but Apple hasn't enabled it yet. The current rumor is that it will cost $1.99 to upgrade to 802.11n because of accounting laws. It should come out next month around the time the new Airport base station is released.

The accounting laws is bs, because the hardware is already built into the machine - they're just itching for a lawsuit (read: crippled bluetooth on motorola v710)

A lawsuit? They advertise the computers as having 802.11g, which the card does perfectly fine. Apple has no responsibility to enable the 802.11n capabilities of the card.

Yea it has to do with Sarbanes Oxley Act which is one gigantic pain in the butt for companies to comply with completely.

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

This is why written constitutions suck, but they have their upsides. Should be free else where then.

Written constitutions suck? Wow. First, Sarbanes Oxley isn't part of the Constitution. Second, as long as Apple is incorporated in the US, they are bound by US laws, so this wireless update will not be free elsewhere.

thanks for your opinion on US law.....why dont you do a little research and find out exactly why that law is in place (consumer protection) before you say it "sucks"

the law doesnt suck at all, its basically just to protect people that like to buy things!!! EVERYONE.

now as for apple needing to get sued over this? i think not. when you bought the machine you bought it with G wifi, nothing more. if you want the N, that you didnt really buy in the first place, pay the 2$. if you dont want it, forget about it and move on.
