Hey

I am newish to Mac.

I have been in the market for a new notebook for a few month and decided to buy a G4 to test mac out. And of course I love it.

And it time to buy a new book, of course a mac. But I have about 200,000¥ (japanese yen). I can either buy the macbook black or white. Or a second hand pro. I am thinking of a 2GHz macbook and upgrading to 2GB of ram. As my local computer shop will do a 2GHz white for 124,000 yen and its a month old and I could get the ram upgrade.

I am a medium user, a few games but the ps3 will end that. mainly internet and office related work. 2gb ram maybe overkill. Just looking for opinions really. All advuce welcome

No experience with either but if you plan to play games do you not think 13" Macbook is a bit small?

I'm sorry to hear you're getting a PS3 aswell.

If you want to connect it to your 34" TV, get a MBP. The macbook only supports 23" TVs, whereas the MBP supports 32" (Which is still to small for your TV, but it will look alot better then the macbooks one).

I own a macbook now, and I use it so much ive decided to sell it and buy a new Core2duo macbook pro (My job involves running a large website, so im on it alot). Personally, 13" is quite small, but the screen is probably the best ive ever seen on any laptop.

The pro is tempting me but I cant justify it at the moment. My current laptop is 14" and also I carry my Mac a lot for work. so small is better. Plus I am thinking of buying a mini for the TV and using it as a sever to host somethings.

Sorry my ibook G4 is 14" and my Xp HP is 14.4" so I quite like the size. I am thinking of buying the macbook and using it for a year or so and buying the 17" mac pro at the time.
