http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/08..._to_get_merom/

from the website -
"Apple will not only ship Core 2 Duo-based MacBook Pro notebooks next month, but also versions of its consumer-oriented MacBook fitted with Intel's latest mobile processor - and its first 64-bit laptop chip - Asian reports have claimed.

According to a story in the Chinese-language newspaper the Commercial Times, Taiwanese contract manufacturer Asustek - best known, perhaps, for its Asus-brand products - will punch out MacBooks based on the new CPU, codenamed 'Merom'. Apple's MacBook Pros are said to be manufactured by Quanta. Together, the two producers will punch out 200,000-300,000 laptop Macs, the paper claims."

Does that mean the upgrade can happen this coming 25th ?!?!?!

I should def. wait before ordering my mac now...

Did Apple say this???
No, they didnt'. A rumor site said it and printed it.
Until you hear it or see it from Apple, as in on the official Apple website or the words audibly and physically coming from Steve Jobs' mouth... well, you might as well consider it a lie and false information.
Don't get caught up in the rumormill.

^ Precisely.

Rumored iPhone. This has been going on since 2001 and we still have seen nothing, other than the SLVR or whatever (iTunes on a phone)...

I try to Command+Shift+/ when I can.

Even if you get a Core2Duo, it WILL BE REPLACED within a few months.

Just get what you want, when you want it.
