A friend of mine had her g4 ibook stolen and I'm wondering what options she has in terms of trying to recover it. If the person who has it decides to use it and/or update software is there any way for apple to track or trace that?

Thanks in advance,
B

Report it to the police and report it to apple. Only thing apple can do is if they bring it in for service or an upgrade and apple puts the serial into the computer

Don't forget to use the new User Reputation System

That blows. I'm sorry to hear about that. Did she have a recovery program installed? If so, that would really increase the chances of getting it back. How about any StuffBak stickers on it? They have a good recovery reputation as well. Good luck.
