Well due to the way the harddrive companies measure the drive and the way an OS measures a drive, 80GB = 74GB once formatted.
Apple also installs a bunch of software and drivers along with OS X which also consumes a fair amount of space. (iLife alone requires close to 10GB of space with all the sounds, loops & themes) Do a search, there are a number of threads on how to save/reclaim some space. |
