    Specs:
    iMac 20" C2D, 2 Gig.
    is it ok to leave external power ON?
    is it ok to leave the powerbook g4 using external ac power adapter? (with the battery in it).would doing so affects battery life, over charging.

    no....you can leave i plugged in as long as you like. It's smart enough not to overcharge

    I think he means not only plugged in, but powered on as well.

    I don't think there is a problem with it. I have done it several times while downloading. Just make sure your LCD will turn off, as having it on continuously will shorten its life

    i've noticed that while I leave my 17" powerbook plugged in, the battery percentage will drop a bit.. like to 98%, then 97%.. but when I unplug it for a while and plug it back in it will charge to a 100%.

    is that normal?

    That is perfectly normal. The manual says that your powerbook might not hold a 100% charge while on AC power. When the battery level drops below 95% it will charge all the way to 100%. This saves battery life, because charging is not continuously cycled on and off.
