iBook - TV Adapter Not Working!

I bought a TV adapter a few months ago. For a while, it worked great.

But one day, my settings went skewiff. I don't know what's happened but my my mac seems to think it's being plugged into a VGA monitor.

Instead of offering me options like PAL 50hz, SECAM, NTSC etc... it's now offering me the likes of 640x480 72hz etc...

I plug the adapter into the TV and I get what looks like a VGA signal; no horizontal/vertical sync, no colour, scrambled image.

How do I fix this and get my iBook to recognise the TV adapter as just that?

It's called the Apple Video Adapter. It plugs into the video output port (mini-VGA) of my iBook. It has an s-video and composite connector.

I somehow mis read your message. I thought it was some TV Tuner! Sorry, it's late!

I had that happen once with that adapter and a reboot took care of it. It sounds like it's in PAL or something.

PAL is what I want it to be in. But ti doesn't seem to be set to NTSC, PAL or SECAM.

It's been like this for a while. Neither a reboot or a PRAM reset will fix it.

I will do some searching around and see what I come up with. I did not know you were not in the USA. If I find something I will get back to you.
